In I Am with You Always, Katherine "Kat" Frances O'Brien, a feisty 32-year-old Irishwoman, hasn't exactly lived on easy street. Married, divorced, and widowed, in that order, she smokes, drinks, cusses like a sailor, and does the best she can with what she's been handed. But that's all about to change.

David, an angel and a general in God's army, visits Kat one evening in what she tries to convince herself is only a dream. But when it becomes evident David is no figment of her imagination, Kat can hardly believe his message. David has been sent to Earth to protect and advise her as she embarks on a quest to write a book ordained by God. Unfortunately, that also means David will be hanging out at Kat's place.

Not only does Kat wish all of this would just go away, she's more than a little irritated with this mouthy angel who thinks he knows what's best for her. But the longer David is around and the more attuned Kat becomes to the spiritual world, she knows that someone — or something — is definitely out to get her. Suddenly, Kat begins to take the whole thing a little more seriously, especially when she discovers she just might be falling in love with an angel.
