What mystical arts do you practice today?
My focus is in numerology I use other tools such as Rune stones, I Ching, and the cards. Combining all this with psychic ability, I can come up with some amazingly accurate answers for people. Numerology is a reliable friend, because numbers tell the truth. A lot of my work is in spiritual counseling. Sometimes instead of turning to things like alcohol or cocaine, people will seek spiritual answers and discussion.
How did you develop your abilities?
I’ve been using my abilities for more than thirty years. Initially, I was looking into astrology and taking some classes in it, but eventually I drifted into numerology where I really just took right off, launched you might say. Once I seriously started using numerology, it held such a fascination for me that I naturally fell into putting it to work. My true goal is to help people, and this is how I do it the best. I have always had a deep interest in spirituality and the mysteries that it brings to us, not that we can necessarily solve all those mysteries.
How did you fine-tune your abilities?
I spent hours and hours and hours of practicing with people — day after day after day — sometimes seven days per week. You have to have people to practice with and get feedback. You cannot do the practicing on your own. After a great length of time, you can do strong interpretations with many kinds of tools as I mentioned before. Time, serious effort, and study are all critical. Get your feet wet because you cannot just take things off the top of your head. Until you have keen and dedicated understanding, you absolutely cannot establish a business or a practice. Only after you have this firm understanding are you a professional. Learning something, such as card reading, does not give you license to just run with it. Much practice and much experience is what comes next, and I’m not talking about pulling out the cards now and then on a weekend. I now work with all types of people — business people, law enforcement, ordinary people seeking spiritual growth — you name it. Feedback from them tells me that what I say is accurate.
Explain more about Numerology.
Each number has certain characteristics. My birth path for example is a number 7. That’s the number associated with radio, television, books, art, and ministry Take a look at what I do in this career, and you’ll see the characteristics of the number 7 pop up all over the place. If you want to know how to calculate, let’s take the birthday of 1-9-1950. This boils down to the number 1 ÷ 9 = 10 and 1 + 9 + 5 + 0 = 15. This can further be reduced to 1 + 0 + 1 + 5 = 7.
The letters of the alphabet are also associated with a number. To find daily, monthly, and yearly paths of a person’s life, we add up the numbers associated with the letters of the original birth certificate name. Adding the numbers assigned to the vowels in a person’s name correlates with your motivation in life. I believe the numbers actually tell you what you are capable of doing. When people literally associate the numbers with themselves, they can find direction in their careers. For example, people with the number 5 make good sales representatives — always trying to sell you something.
In numerology, not everything is a bed of roses. Realize, for example, if someone hits a number 5 or a number 9, these numbers can edge toward negativity and these people can become highly accident-prone. When you get a 9 for the year, a red flag should go up. That 9 signifies a conclusion to something also. We are usually looking at the numbers 1 through 9. When we hit a number 1, a new beginning or a new direction is at hand. The numbers actually become guidelines, and from my years of experience, this has been a great help to people. I want to say that we need to use numbers in a directional way also. For example, when someone goes from a personal number year of 4 to a personal number year of 5, we know that in year number 4 a foundation should be laid for the changes that will inevitably be coming in the year number 5. The year number 5 is a time to follow your intuition and take some risks. The unexpected is likely to happen in May and September, and things that are confusing will make sense later.
Is there a common thread among practitioners of mystical arts?
Yes. They have to be spiritual, have a belief in God or Spirit, and have a liking for people. The story of like attracts like is true. I meet people who do the same thing or nearly the same thing as I do, and there is a commonality. The common thread for us is mysticism and spirituality.
What’s the Beverly Kay definition of mystic?
Mystery with a capital “M.” It does not have to be more complicated than that.
Do you have any comments about the skeptic?
I give the skeptic knowledge. It’s one thing for me to say something and then it’s another thing for me to prove it. That’s when the skeptic starts to believe, although cautiously. I have had business executives, police officers, detectives, and others say to me, “How can you possibly know that about me?” I tell them it’s because I know their numbers and this gives me troves of factual information that applies to them.
It’s OK to be skeptical, but there needs to be a balance at some point. Math, logic, and intuition are all important. If you are heavily into left-brain, then you can be a space-cadet -- you are really out of balance. On the other hand, if you are weighing in on the right brain too much, you’re robotic.
Is there anything unique about practicing in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin is very reserved. I don’t mind that. I am a logical person who likes mathematics and therefore I employ numbers. That too could be considered conservative, but nonetheless, they give me solid information and help me to decipher what’s ahead. For years and years, people of Wisconsin have rather isolated their minds when it comes to this type of work. After September 11 however, people are paying much more attention to numbers than they ever did in the past.
In regards to September 11, 2001, do you have any numerological comments?
That is a complex matter, but the short version for me is to look primarily at the number 9. Middle Eastern terrorists had to wait until 9/11/2001 because the numbers had to match the event. The number 9 can go negative, and it did. Mars, God of War, rules it. Nine is associated with bombing, the color red, blood, and fire.
When the 9/11/2001 destruction stopped, we went into the positive attributes of 9, which is associated with humanitarian acts. The world goes full circle, balancing out the negative and the positive. The circle can’t be closed until it is balanced — just like balancing the books. ‘When one circle is closed, we enter another circle, and life goes on.
We are in the Aquarian age right now. It is the age of unity of man and woman, but the opposite sign is Leo, and that is Christ Consciousness. So, we are all going up in consciousness, one by one by one. Nobody can do this for us. We have to do this for ourselves. The Unites States had a birthday on July 4, 2001. If you take 7 + 4 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 1, the total is 14. Take 1 + 4 and we have the number 5. The five represents a major turning point in this country, but not the rest of the world. You see then it peaked again in September with a number 5. This is calculatedbyadding9+1+1÷2+0+0+1=14.Wegetthe number 5 by adding 1 + 4 again. The year 2001 for the world is a number 3, indicating the world would spring back. The year 2002 is a 4, indicating preparation for change. The year 2003 is a 5, bringing the change into being.
Do you have a belief in a structured religion?
I study many religions and like to associate with a variety of ideas from the different religions. It is important to remember that what is right for one person is wrong for another. I decide for myself. Nevertheless, the bottom line for me is worshiping God and practicing the worship of God. I do practice what I preach, you might say.
When you are out and about are your abilities on or off.
They are mostly on and I stay open, but I don’t really do any numbers unless I am asked, and then I’ll say something. It would be difficult for me to push information on to someone
Do dreams have significance?
Yes, absolutely there is significance. Some people, who are really advancing in consciousness or changing their thinking, will get things in dream form so these messages will not scare them when they are in a more conscious state and walking down the street. In some form, the dream materializes. When that person is busy in daily activities, and something that originally came out in a dream hits that person right between the eyes, he or she is more prepared for it then. I believe this to be a right- brain phenomenon related to psychic ability and intuition. Incidentally, looking at the year 2000, or the number 2, we can say there began a merging of logic and intuition. Some would say a merging of information from the right and left brain. We can do things differently that did not come to light in the past. We can balance the logic and intuition and have things running in sync. If not, we end up fighting some part of ourselves, either mentally or physically.
Is there power in prayer?
There is a lot of power in prayer. Really, prayer is a form of electrical energy and this kind of force doesn’t stagnate in one place. One of the greatest assets of prayer is its ability to heal. Maybe healing does not always happen directly, but through prayer, we can help people to help themselves in a healing process. Prayer needs to be taken seriously and not frivolously.
What do you think about reincarnation?
Reincarnation is a Universal Law. It was written in the Bible. When you think about it, the idea does make sense. For someone to be born blind or handicapped makes God look like a villain. There has to be an explanation for that. It is part of a greater plan that is incomprehensible to us. We try to nip away at understanding bits and pieces, and I think reincarnation is one of those snippets. It’s a law that works. We are recycled.
Are there any caveats for people seeking a reading?
I advise seeing a professional psychic reader who is also spiritual and who lives by a belief in God or Spirit or whatever name you choose to give that energy. Check out the experience and the credentials of that person. Beware the power of suggestion. Don’t forget that you are walking into the unknown, so you must be very careful.
What do you think about the television psychic hot lines?
The same message goes out to people — be careful! Also, be cautious of psychic hot lines advertised in the yellow pages, and what comes in the mail. Some of these mailings are setting the hook. Once they have your name and address, and perhaps phone number, they keep on sending you “bargain offers” that are increasingly more expensive. Personally, I advise staying away from all of this.
Is there a dark side to things?
I believe so. I see a dark side as negativity primarily. How does one avoid the dark side? Use common sense, use spirituality; and be strongly aware that you need to analyze and examine your thinking. Does that kind of thinking make sense to a sane society? Is that thinking destructive?
Have you worked on any police or investigative cases?
In criminal cases, scenes come to my mind. I have helped in police cases and assisted families trying to locate missing friends or relatives. I’ve also helped people to find lost objects. Mequon, where I live, does not have a high crime rate. So, when something out of the ordinary occurs to me, I take notice. An unusual case came up and I reached into my abilities for some information. In my mind, I could see a young woman riding a bike. She was on her way home and had been swimming in the Cedarburg area. She stopped at an intersection with traffic lights, and the name of the street she was traveling on popped into my head. I did not know it was a street name however. A man ahead of her in a van got out and went around to the back of the vehicle, hit her on the head with something, and abducted her. She was later found murdered around Davis Road. I knew the name I was coming up with was important, and that it was not the name of the van driver.
I didn’t want to work on this. I was getting calls, and I felt an obligation to help the family. I called the detective on the case, and he said, “Bev, you would have to be there to know things.” I gave him the information and then I let it go. I didn’t hear anything more from the detective for a long time. A few years later, I ran into him in a restaurant, and he said to me, “I should have called you to apologize.” I asked him why. He said that the name I gave him was later determined to be the street where the young woman was first abducted.
Do you have any advice to those with children who are showing abilities?
Encourage them! It is a talent and a gift that can serve them well. Why stifle that and “dumb” things down? They are developing and what they are saying and seeing has a truth to it, although you may not recognize it immediately.
Is there such a thing as coincidence or synchronicity?
I believe there are connections. Things happen in a certain manner and sequence and there is a reason for it. Meaning may not be evident, however. It’s important not to read things into events also.
Do you have any final messages?
We are all here on a mission. We all have unique paths. When I first started working with numbers, I viewed the numbers as “favors” or “clues” from God. If you have a number 7, that number has specific things in store for you. It’s very important to find out what the numbers are about. If you are carrying a number that lends itself to science, then pick and choose within that category. Do you want to be a water analyst, a nuclear physicist, an engineer, or a biologist? There will be no stopping you. Without the knowledge of this number, you might be saying to yourself, “Oh, I’ll sell paint and hardware because it’s a safe job, even though my passion is nuclear engineering.” Don’t do that! If you know your numbers, you can push yourself to your full potential and find happiness for yourself and others. There won’t be that longing and nagging voice saying, “I should have gone into nuclear engineering.” If you don’t know the blueprint of your soul, you will find yourself in conflict.
